Health, safety and wellbeing

We back you to be at your best, at work and beyond.

Careers at CitiPower and PowercorHealth, safety and wellbeing

The health, safety and wellbeing of our people and the communities we operate in is at the core of our values and remains our number one priority.

Whether you are working in our office, remotely, at a depot or in the field, we support you to be the best you can be. That includes your physical safety, mental wellbeing and overall work-life balance.

Wellbeing initiatives

We deliver a year-round calendar of initiatives designed to help our people stay healthy, supported and connected.

Key support and programs include:

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP): offering free, confidential counselling for employees and their families
  • Wellbeing subsidy: providing a monthly allowance that can be used across a wide range of health, fitness and wellbeing activities
  • Annual health programs: including flu vaccinations, skin checks and other preventative health services
  • Screen-based work support: including a glasses subsidy for eligible employees
  • Voluntary activities: encouraging participation in a range of activities throughout the year that promote connection, movement and mental wellbeing. These include team-based challenges, community events and awareness activities that support important causes and conversations.
  • Psychosocial safety focus: supporting safe work environments through hazard identification, incident and near miss reporting, and proactive risk management
  • Celebrations and events: encouraging connection and conversation across teams

Flexible working and remote access

We understand that flexible working helps people balance work and life, reduce commute stress and improve overall wellbeing.

Depending on role requirements, employees across CitiPower, Powercor and United Energy work across a range of environments including offices, depots, remote sites and home.

Many of our people combine working from home with time in the office or field. This supports both collaboration and flexibility, while still keeping teams closely connected.

Workplace flexibility in action

Dale Anderson, Works Program Delivery Manager, leads the team that schedules field operations. During the COVID period, he relocated from Melbourne to Lorne and has continued working successfully in a more flexible arrangement since.

Our health and safety management system is internationally certified and designed to ensure everyone gets home safely every day.

  • Strong focus on hazard identification, risk management, and learning from incidents and near misses
  • Equipping leaders with tools and training to promote safe behaviours
  • Extensive learning and development programs that build capability and address human factors in safety
